Anika Noni Rose is an American singer-actress. Most famously, she is the character voiced by Tiana in The Princess and the Frog, the one and only African American Disney Princess. Disney named her a Legend in 2011. Rose was in Lorrell Robinson in her character in the Academy Award winning film Dreamgirls. Anika noni rose is an American actor, singer and songwriter. Her most well-known role is that of Tiana the first Disney African American princess in The Princess and the Frog (2009). In 2011, she was honored as a Disney Legend. She is also known for her starring role as Lorrell Robinson in the Oscar Award-winning Film Dreamgirls (2006) and for her role as the character of LaVerne Jukebox Ganner as part of the Starz program Power. She's also known for performing on stage, particularly because of her starring role as Emmie Thibodeaux and Emmie Broadway show Caroline or Change (2004), for which she was awarded the Tony Award Best Female Featured Actress in a Musical award was given to her and Beneatha Youther in the Broadway Remake of A Raisin in the Sun (2015) to which the Tony Award Best Female Featured performance in a play was awarded to her.
